New to SegmentAI ✨ Build segments based on modifier purchase behavior
Modifier-based segments are now available in SegmentAI, allowing you to build customer audiences based on modifier purchase behavior. This enhancement makes it easy to identify and engage your most valuable customizers directly from the SegmentAI builder.
What is it?
Modifier-based segments let you target customers based on their customization behavior like adding guacamole, choosing oat milk, or upgrading with extra cheese.
Why it matters
For brands where modifiers drive average check, customers who consistently upgrade their orders are among your most valuable. Modifier-based segments enable you to:
Reward your top customizers by identifying guests who consistently add premium modifiers
Run upsell campaigns targeting customers who've never tried a high-margin add-on
Personalize by preference based on dietary habits like oat milk, no cheese, or plant-based options
Re-engage with a reason by inviting first-time modifier use with a targeted offer
How it works
Modifier-based segments are built directly inside the SegmentAI builder you already use:
Go to Dashboard > Customers > SegmentAI
Describe your targeting intent in plain language. For example, "Customers who ordered a Chicken Bowl with Guacamole".
Note: Modifier data is sourced from digital orders only. In-store modifier targeting is coming in a future update.
SegmentAI generates a new visual picker pre-loaded with the relevant menu items and modifiers from your live menu data
Review and adjust the selections
Save the segment and submit for admin approval. Once approved, it's ready to use in any campaign
Where to find it in Thanx
Navigate to Dashboard > Customers > SegmentAI and describe your targeting intent using natural language. The AI will generate a visual picker with your menu's items and modifiers.
