Thanx now integrates with CataBoom: Guests win real rewards through branded games

CataBoom connects branded, in-app games to your Thanx loyalty program, so when a guest plays and wins, the reward or bonus points land straight in their Thanx account.

What is it?

CataBoom is a game-based engagement platform restaurant brands use to run branded games like spin-to-win, trivia, and scratch cards. With this integration, a guest who plays and wins gets their reward, bonus points, or a points-funded extra play, straight into their Thanx account.

Why it matters

• A new way to earn loyalty members: games reach guests who haven't joined your loyalty program yet, giving them an easy, low-friction way in.

• Feeds your loyalty program, doesn't compete with it: every prize lands directly in the guest's Thanx account, so a game moment reinforces the same earning and redemption guests already know.

• A reason to come back between visits: brands use these moments around an LTO, a holiday, or simply to re-engage a guest who hasn't ordered in a while.

• No engineering lift required: CataBoom is largely self-service, so most brands can build and launch a game themselves without a dev request.

How it works

1. The guest finds the game through a link, QR code, or a spot inside your app.

2. The guest enters their email or phone (or is already recognized, if they arrived through the app) and plays.

3. If they win, the reward or points show up in their Thanx account right away.

Keep in Mind

• CataBoom, not Thanx, verifies who's playing. This works best when the game itself confirms the player before a prize goes out, especially for games where playing costs points.

• If CataBoom sends a batch of prizes, an individual failure isn't automatically flagged back today. If a guest reports a missing prize, loop in your CSM.

Where to find it in Thanx

Setup happens entirely on CataBoom's side. Your Thanx CSM confirms the data-sharing agreement and links your account to CataBoom; CataBoom's team builds the game from there. To get started, contact your Thanx Customer Success Manager.

A: Yes. Drop the game's URL into a custom segment (content) block in your app, and it'll appear right there for members to play.

Q: Do we need the Thanx app for this to work?

A: No. The standard flow is a CataBoom-hosted link or QR code, so it works even for brands without an app. Adding it inside the app is optional.

Q: Is the reward issued instantly?

A: It feels instant to the guest. Under the hood, CataBoom sends the request and Thanx confirms it, which typically takes just a moment.
