PAR POS (formerly Brink) Integration

Thanx now integrates with PAR POS, connecting your loyalty program directly to your POS. With the integration, you can look up a guest account and redeem rewards right at the POS using an email, phone number, or by scanning a QR code. No separate terminal or workaround needed. The integration supports both check-in and card-linked earning models. We are currently looking for beta merchants to try the new experience.

What is it?

Thanx now directly integrates with PAR POS for in-store loyalty. Guests can now earn and redeem directly on the PAR POS.

Why it matters

  • Loyalty at the register, no workarounds: Look up guest accounts and redeem rewards without extra steps from your staff.

  • Works with how you already operate: The integration runs through PAR’s built-in loyalty support, so register configuration is minimal.

  • Check-in loyalty, natively: If card-linked earning isn’t right for your brand, check-in via email, phone, or QR now works directly through PAR POS.

  • In-store SKU-level reporting: Available for brands on check- in loyalty

How it works

Setup is handled by Thanx; this isn’t a self-service configuration. Here’s what the process looks like:

  1. Express interest: Contact your Thanx CSM team. Thanx coordinates with PAR to confirm your locations are eligible.

  2. Confirm specific hardware : Reach out to PAR support to confirm specific hardware and OS compatibility to run “Generic Loyalty” at PAR POS.

  3. Sign the required documents: A data waiver and an addendum for the $25/location/month integration fee from PAR

  4. Thanx configures your locations: Location setup, credentials, and discount mapping are handled by Thanx in coordination with PAR’s API team.

  5. Enable Generic Loyalty in PAR POS: Your team emails PAR API support to activate the loyalty workflow on your specific locations and hardware.

  6. Pilot and go live: Thanx and your POS support team run a test and validation before full rollout.

Your staff will see a loyalty button in PAR POS. Customers look up their account by email, phone, or QR code and have rewards applied at checkout.

Beta — Available to Select Merchants

This integration is currently in Beta. We’re working with a small group of PAR POS merchants to validate the experience across different hardware setups. If you’re interested in being an early adopter, reach out to your Thanx CSM team.

A few things to know during Beta:

  • Supported on staff-facing registers; handhelds and kiosks may work depending on your specific hardware. Please confirm with PAR before assuming compatibility

  • Native in-store POS enrollment is not currently supported on PAR POS. However, lookup-based enrollment is supported.

  • Order cancellation point reversals may take up to 24 hours

Does this work for US and Canada locations?

Yes, the PAR POS integration is available for both US and Canada.

Is there a cost to use this integration?

Yes. There’s a $25/location/month POS integration fee from PAR.

Can customers sign up for the loyalty program at the POS?

Not at the register. New customers enroll through the Thanx app or web. The POS supports lookup and redemption for existing accounts only.

Do we need to migrate all locations at once?

No, you can roll out location by location. If you have existing reward configurations, Thanx will walk you through transferring them to the new setup.
