Deliverect-powered ordering

AUTHOR: The Thanx team

We’ve expanded our ordering middleware options to include Deliverect, giving you enterprise-grade first-party ordering and best-in-class loyalty on the POS you already run.

What is it?

The collaboration brings together Deliverect’s enterprise-grade ordering and delivery management infrastructure and Thanx’s proven loyalty, marketing, and ordering UX platform in a turnkey, affordable solution designed to eliminate the technical complexity, high cost, and long implementation timelines that have traditionally limited access to best-in-class digital tools.

This is a fit if you:

  • Run a multi-location brand (roughly 6+ locations)

  • Want an enterprise-grade ordering middleware upgrade and cost savings option

  • Already use Deliverect for menu management and want to add first-party ordering

The experience is designed to maximize order conversion, stay consistent across app and web, capture guest data for your CRM, and weave rewards into checkout — the same standard Thanx ordering experience your guests already know.

Why it matters

  • No bespoke POS build, no enterprise price tag — Deliverect manages the POS connection and order injection; you get sophisticated ordering and loyalty at a lesser cost of other middleware providers.

  • Broader POS and payment provider support. Deliverect connects to more POS systems and payment processors than other ordering middleware, giving you more flexibility as your stack evolves instead of being locked into a narrow set of providers.

  • Your loyalty program, wherever guests order — all loyalty features work as usual, including hidden menu, card-linked loyalty, and Universal Promo Codes. Every digital purchase earns points.

  • Guests keep their login — standard Thanx login, SSO, and persistent login carry over; guests can jump straight to the menu and enroll in loyalty at checkout.

  • Delivery handled for you, with pricing upfront — Deliverect Dispatch selects the courier (Uber, DoorDash, and others) and guests see a live delivery quote — availability, price, and ETA — right at checkout.

  • Menu flexibility — supports nested modifiers, item/modifier/option-based pricing, custom category banners, notification banners, and handoff-specific menus (e.g., a different menu for pickup vs. delivery).

  • Smart upsells built in — guests see relevant add-ons at checkout, whether merchant-configured or AI-suggested based on order history.

  • Responsive, dedicated support — Deliverect offers phone support with a 48-hour SLA, so store-level issues get resolved quickly instead of sitting in a general queue.

How it works

Getting connected

  1. Confirm you have an active Deliverect account with your store(s) configured, and that your POS is already connected to Deliverect.

  2. Your Thanx CS and Implementation team sets up your merchant record and maps your locations — a guided, hands-on process today, not self-serve.

  3. Once locations are mapped, we import and validate your menu — categories, items, modifiers, and images.

  4. We run a test payment end-to-end before you go live.

Placing and confirming orders

  • Guests order on a Thanx powered web, mobile or app ordering experience

  • Guests choose pickup, delivery, or curbside (Tableside coming soon!)

  • After checkout, guests see "Order submitted" if the restaurant doesn't confirm within 5 seconds. Confirmation can take up to 10 minutes. Status updates to "Order placed successfully" or "We couldn't confirm your order."

  • If an order is rejected, the guest gets an email and can tap Retry This Order to try again immediately.

Payments

  • Guests pay by credit card through Deliverect Pay (hosted payments). Keep in mind that Deliverect's tokenization requires CVV re-entry on saved cards.

Hours and availability

  • Time slots are generated from your store's opening hours in Deliverect, adjusted for prep time.

  • A store that's open or busy accepts orders (busy just adds a prep delay); paused or closed stores don't accept orders.

  • Temporary schedule overrides (like holiday hours) are supported— Deliverect ingests holiday and special hours from the store and uses them to temporarily override the regular schedule.

What to know before you launch

  • Order confirmation isn't instant. Your POS confirms in the background, so guests may briefly see "Order submitted" before "Order placed" — up to several minutes in some cases.

  • Guests can only place ASAP orders. Order scheduling is not yet available and coming soon.

  • Items and modifiers that are 86'd can be automatically greyed out or hidden from the menu, based on the brand’s setting in Deliverect.

  • Menu changes take a few minutes to sync from Deliverect to Thanx. If a change isn't showing, confirm it published in Deliverect and that the item's PLU and menu mapping are correct.

  • Category images from Deliverect aren't available yet.

  • Gift cards are supported today with our direct Valutec integration. Split-payment support includes up to 3 gift cards that can be applied in addition to a credit card.

  • Coming soon: Tableside handoff mode, Order scheduling, SVS gift cards, and a custom web ordering domain.

  • Not currently supported: drive-thru, digital wallets (Apple Pay/Google Pay), pay-in-store/pay-on-arrival, group ordering, and Deliverect's own native gift card API (Valutec is supported today as a direct integration).

FAQs

Which POS systems can use Deliverect with Thanx?

Any POS integrated with Deliverect supports ordering and loyalty via Thanx — and Deliverect is constantly adding new POS providers. You just need an active Deliverect account with your POS connected.

What are the image guidelines for menu items?

Upload images in Deliverect. We recommend at least 1200×800 px (3:2 aspect ratio), consistent within a category so items don't crop inconsistently. Images should be at least 800 px on the vertical edge — smaller images get scaled up and look blurry. Category images from Deliverect aren't available yet.

Does Thanx process the delivery courier's orders and invoices?

No. Deliverect Dispatch selects and manages the courier (e.g., Uber or DoorDash). Thanx doesn't choose the courier or process its orders/invoices — that stays between you and Deliverect.

I updated my menu in Deliverect — why isn't it showing in Thanx yet?

Menu changes sync on a short refresh cycle, so updates can take a few minutes to appear. If it's still not showing, confirm it was published in Deliverect and that the item's PLU and menu mapping are correct.

Why did my order show as "submitted" instead of confirmed right away?

Your POS confirms orders through Deliverect in the background, which can take up to 10 minutes. You'll see "Order submitted" first, then "Order placed successfully" once confirmed.
