Automatically sync email subscribers to Thanx via API
Your email list and newsletter signups can flow directly into Thanx, with no manual exports required.
What is it?
Our Thanx API lets you connect your platforms directly to Thanx, so email addresses are automatically opted into Thanx email marketing the moment they're collected. Common use cases include syncing newsletter signups, importing CRM contacts, connecting email marketing platforms, and ingesting subscribers from website signup forms. Once a contact is ingested, Thanx can be set up to automatically send campaigns to encourage loyalty enrollment. This integration runs in the background, managed by the tech platform you connected, on your behalf.
Why it matters
Turn cold contacts into loyalty prospects. Email subscribers who haven't joined your program yet are a warm audience. Subscriber ingestion gets them into Thanx automatically so you can convert them into enrolled members.
No manual list management. Instead of exporting and re-uploading contact lists, your tech partners sync subscriber data to Thanx in real time.
Works with the tools you already use. Whether you collect signups via your website, a newsletter platform, or a CRM, partners can connect those sources to Thanx through a single integration.
Thanx handles the follow-through. Once a contact is ingested, Thanx can be set up to automatically send campaigns to encourage loyalty enrollment.
Guest profiles get richer from day one. Partners can include first name, last name, birth date, and zip code alongside the email, giving you more attributes for a robust guest profile.
How it works
Talk to your Thanx Customer Success Manager about enabling this integration with a specific technology platform. Your CSM will issue API credentials with the required permissions to whoever is building the integration — whether that's your IT or digital development team, an agency, or your specific tech platform (CRM, email tool, website signup form).
Tech platform connects to the Thanx API.
When a guest signs up for an email or marketing list, the platform submits their email to Thanx automatically.
Thanx opts that contact into your loyalty marketing. Thanx can then be set up to automatically send campaigns to encourage loyalty enrollment.
Guests who complete enrollment become full loyalty members with access to rewards, points, and tiers.
FAQs
What's the difference between a subscriber and a loyalty member?
A subscriber is opted into your loyalty marketing communications but hasn't enrolled in your full program yet. Once a contact is ingested, Thanx can be set up to automatically send campaigns to encourage loyalty enrollment. Once they complete enrollment, they become full loyalty members with access to rewards, points, and tiers.
Can I submit subscribers myself, or does it have to go through a tech partner?
This integration is built for server-to-server use and requires API credentials. If you want to explore options for ingesting your own subscriber lists, reach out to your Thanx Customer Success Manager.
What information can be submitted with a subscriber?
At minimum, an email address is required. Partners can also include first name, last name, birth date, and zip code to enrich the subscriber profile.
What happens if an email address is already in my Thanx system?
The API accepts the submission without error by design. Existing records are not duplicated or overwritten, which also protects guest privacy.
Do subscribers need to give consent before being submitted?
Yes. All subscriber data submitted to Thanx must have explicit user consent to receive the merchant's marketing. This is a certification requirement and must be in place before any integration can go live.
What tech platforms support this integration?
Any tech platform can request credentials to build a subscriber ingestion integration. If you'd like to connect a specific platform, talk to your Thanx Customer Success Manager.
