Action required by May 1st: Upload your Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Consumer Opt-out documents

Good news: your loyalty program’s legal documents are getting an upgrade. Starting now, you can upload your own Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Consumer Opt-out documents to Thanx — so your customers are agreeing to your terms, not ours. We just need you to complete the setup by May 1.

What is it?

You can now upload and manage your own Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Opt-out documents directly in the Thanx Dashboard. This puts you in full ownership of the legal relationship between you and your customers, exactly where it belongs.

Not sure where to start? Thanx has worked with legal counsel to prepare boilerplate versions of each document that you can download, fill in, and upload as a starting point.

Why this is changing

Your loyalty program should feel like your program, and this includes the legal agreements your customers see. This change makes that official: your customers are agreeing to your terms, not Thanx’s. You own that relationship.

  • For you: Full ownership of your customer relationships, with no third-party terms in between.

  • For your customers: Clarity that they’re sharing their data with you, the brand they signed up with.

What you need to do

You have three options:

  1. Use the provided boilerplates — Download the pre-written template documents, fill in your brand name and any required details, and upload them back to the Thanx Dashboard.

    • Note: These documents are provided as-is for convenience. Brands who use them without modification assume full responsibility for their consumer relationships. Thanx assumes no liability for their use.

  2. Use your own documents — Work with your own legal counsel to create documents that fit your brand and business. Upload the final versions to the Thanx Dashboard.

  3. Link to hosted documents — If you already host your Privacy Policy or Terms on your website, you can provide the URLs directly in the Dashboard rather than uploading files.

Complete this by May 1

Starting tomorrow, you’ll see a prompt in your Thanx Dashboard reminding you to complete this setup. You can dismiss it, but it’ll be back and it reappears every hour until you’re done. On May 1, the option to skip disappears and setup becomes required to continue using the platform.

It only takes a few minutes. Get it done now and the reminders stop. Go to Digital Experiences > Settings > Terms and Policies to update your documents today.

FAQs

What happens if I don’t complete setup by May 1?

On May 1, the ability to skip the setup prompt is removed. You’ll need to upload your documents to continue using the platform.

Can I just use the Thanx boilerplate as-is?

Yes, the boilerplate documents are available for your convenience. However, they are provided as-is and without warranty. If you use them without modification, you assume full responsibility for your customer relationships. We recommend having legal counsel review them before use.

Do I need to upload all three documents?

You’ll need a Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and an Opt-out document. If you already host any of these on your website, you can provide a URL instead of uploading a file.

Where do I upload these in the Dashboard?

Log into your Thanx Dashboard and go to Digital Experiences > Settings > Terms & Policies.

What if I already have these documents on my website?

You’re all set — just provide the URLs in the Dashboard. No need to upload separate files.
